Its nice that we get the SH2 remake, but part of the charm of GOG is getting the original PC releases up and running on modern hardware. We got Silent Hill 4 and would be nice if that same type of love went to preserving Silent Hill 2 and 3 on the PC.

Chances are that GoG might already be working on them resp. already has them lined up for re-release soon™.

They probably got them already. It's a matter of fixing them etc.. which might take a few years.

Just be patient.. GOG being killing it with games lately. Resident Evil trilogy , Dino Crisis , breath of life , doom 2016 and now Silent Hill 2 less then a year after a steam release. like they got this.
That would be awesome! The OG SH 2 and 3... and the first official port of the first entry in the franchise. Why not?! :D fingers crossed!

Voted on those two years ago :-)
Have no doubt GOG would love to have those, imagine how well they would sell. ;) I heard there are unfortunate legal issues, though I don't know the truth.

The OG voice actors demanded way more royalties from Konami when they wanted to do the much maligned HD release on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. They reached a deal with the cast of 2 and had the OG as an option, but failed to reach a deal with the cast of 3 and had to redo all of their lines. That issue still seems to be a sticking point, those actors know how big a deal these games are.

That will provide more than both Konami or GOG could ever do officially. That enhanced edition project took over a decade to make happen & Its very easy nowadays to install/play.

I wonder why is it that Konami had no issue like this when it comes to Silent Hill 4. As far as I heard, they never even reached out to the voice actress of Heather from Silent Hill 3. The entire situation is total incompetence from Konami's part. Especially if we are looking at the fact that they own the entire Silent Hill franchise, and they still unable to re-release them even through they are almost the most voted games in the entire dream list.
Who knows, we might get it as a summer sale surprise if we're lucky.
I'd love to get classic SH2 patched and working on modern PCs.

SH3 was never ported to PC, so it's unlikely you'll ever see it here.

Silent Hill 3 was ported to PC, but the first Silent Hill never saw a PC port

There is remarkably scant official information on this port, which I didn't even know existed. I'd assumed it never had been ported when Konami stated at the time that SH3 would be a "Playstation 2 exclusive". After diving down quite a few rabbit holes for confirmation of an actual U.S. release of this port, I finally came across some pictures of that unmistakable "extreeeme" tilted rating of M. on a PC box on eBay.

So sure, get that one working on modern Windows as well while we're at it.
