I really just wanted to weigh in here because I know the devs read these forums and a lot of people have been put off by bugs and such. I just have to say I absolutely love this game. It reminds me of an old game called Tower of Babel where you control three unique robots with simple abilities and solve puzzles to continue. The puzzle design and level of micromanagement are very reminiscent of Babel.

I also love the aesthetic, clearly lifting the expressionistic style The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and its contemporaries combined with really nice oil-paint textures. It's really a pleasure just to explore and look around (something you do a lot trying to figure out where to go and what to do).

Finally, I just want to say how refreshing it is to find a game that is designed to be played and not just rushed through to see the ending. It seems a lot of games these days can be beaten without the inconvenience of having to get good at them. I had to master Signal Ops just to get out of the tutorial and the sense of accomplishment when you turn away from the control monitors and see all those little guys cheering you on at the end of a mission is genuine and I can't remember the last time I was actually excited to see what was next in a game.

I love this game and it's a damn shame to see it apparently fall by the wayside like this. I'm telling everyone I know to get it as soon as possible. Gonna spread the word however I can. Signal Ops fan club, here we go!
Thanks ScubaMensch,
It's really encouraging to hear from people enjoying the game!
Guess I'll take a moment to weigh in.

First off thank you for the kind words, it's a gratifying thought to know that there are people out there that appreciated our hard work. You wouldn't believe how many people have panned on our game simply because it required you to think in order to play it. We underestimated how much our industry has become dominated by games that are more akin to interactive movies than something one has to explore and interact with. It is our hope that eventually more people will take the time to give it a chance and maybe, just maybe, it will go on to provide us with enough income in order to make more of these kinds of games.
I've put a word in with the guy who runs the video game section of the site I write for (www.somethingawful.com). I'm a film critic there and it's a widely read site so maybe we can get some positive word out. Every little helps, right?

Sure does, thanks for the help!
Stumbled over this forum/thread just a second ago and i have to admit i took it for granted that you know that a lot of people out there really enjoy your piece of art! Also it didnt really occur to me that i could reach out to you that easily.
So a big thank you right here!

Thank you for letting me and my brother experience your work! You brought us laughter, excitement and a lot of puzzling moments. We enjoyed ourselves very much and are still at it, playing every night we can. On a side note, i am living a long way from home currently and this game is one of the things that helps us have a good time together, even while we live so far apart. So just you know... its not just a game. It is so much more.

Still, i sincerely hope this project is also considered a financial success for you guys. Besides writing positive reviews i try to get the word out because i think a lot more people would buy it if they just knew about it.

Also while talking to other people in my gaming clan it is obvious that there are quite a lot disgusted by the typical gaming industry nowadays too. So fear not... and dont give up on us "users". Still a lot of us out here that appreciate games like yours, that stay in ones memory. And maybe get played by my son too someday cause he surely wont get that mainstream cowclicker stuff handed by me.

Thank you! Please keep up your fantastic work!

edit: the water pump puzzle was a blast! we spent a whole evening on it but thats part of what was so rewarding :)

Also chiming in to say that this is my top indie game of the year, it's exceptionally well-made and there's simply nothing else out there quite like it. I'll do my best to spread the word as well, hopefully I'll get the chance soon to gift a few copies as well. I wish you guys success, and I hope you can make a Mac version. I'm able to play it with a Wineskin, and it runs better than most other games, but once you get to start a proper mission the performance becomes choppy (on my MacBook Air anyhow). Thank you guys, and best of luck!
Again thank you all for the encouragement. It's responses like these that make us strive to improve our game even after it's launch. In that vein, we still very much hope to release both a MAC and Linux version of Signal Ops, it's just something that has taken a lower priority because we need to make ends meet in the meantime.

Our biggest hope still is to be able to get Signal Ops greenlit through Steam, which would open the doors to a much wider audience of players who are holding out because it is their platform of choice. If that actually happens it will also mean a Mac/Linux build will be prioritized to coincide with that launch.

I hope you understand that is not for a lack of want that we still don't have a MAC/Linux build, and we applaud you for putting up with windows emulation in order to play the game!

Thanks, we hope more of these kinds of games can be made too! It will be interesting to see what kind of sales figures we see from the broader Steam release.
