Hi,

I recently bought Civilisation 3 and i have problems with the screen resolution. When I launch the game, the screen expends widthways to fill the widescreen, so the graphics are distorted. Switching to desktop and changing the resolution causing the game to crash or you can only see a few units/icons but not the map.

Has anyone else solved this problem?

For information, I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit with a NVidia Geforce GTX 1650 card.

Thanks

Your scaling is just set to be done at the monitor instead of the GPU.

This is how to add proper widescreen: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Civilization_III#Widescreen_resolution

I think I got the same problem.
But can't get it done when following the steps in the link to pcgamingwiki.

Have attached a pic of how my screen looks when I start the game.
I run two screens, and my left turns off when game starts. Can only see the things on the right side of the red line.
Right screen turns on/off by it self.

According to the link I should edit a file.
See second post.

I can't find that file in my Civ III folder.
See third post.

Can't attach the pics for some reason.

Go to the Conquests subfolder and look for Conquests.ini, it's the only one with an executable in the digital releases sadly. The file is created when the game is run at least once.

You my friend is a genius!

It runs now!

It might be stuck in the upper left corner of my left screen - But it runs. :-)
