In Civ4, I unchecked "Advisor Pop-Ups" and "Sid's Tips" in the Options, but I'm still seeing the Research Pop-Up Window every time. Is there any way to turn this off?

I feel this might be able to be mitigated by selecting a research goal by clicking on a tech in the research window (maybe with another mouse button), but I've never tried this.

If I click on another research goal and then that research completes, the game shows yet another Research Recommendation Window with the audio.

when i complete research i get a window showing what i researched
showing what i gained from it , what it unlocks and plays an audio clip of the flavor text

looking through settings i didnt see anything that would turn it off

Do you mean the pop-up window that appears during the quotes recited by Leonard Nimoy? You can't disable it in the regular options menu but it should be possible modifying the .ini file. There should be a line that reads:

; Set to 1 for no tech splash screens
NoTechSplash = 0

Changing the 0 to 1 should do the trick, according to post #5 here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/how-to-disable-tech-screen-and-autosend-units-to-a-specific-point.328784/

That fixed the issue! I went to the Documents folder and edited the CivilizationIV.ini file to disable the "TechSplash" screens! Thanks!
