I just installed GOG CIV IV Complete, and it took about 2 hours 20 mins... No error messages, the programs start up.
Is this really the 'normal' behaviour of the installer of this package?

Yes, although he was using Linux.

For me the longest part was the downloading. Then it was installing in the background. I did not notice. It took a while to be sure.

The installers for the base game and the expansions operate in sucession.

I do recall installing from the disks (still have them). Definitely it was not hours on Windows XP at all. Less of an hour. Then, that was from the disks and on XP.

Anyways, as I tried to post in a different thread I have been sitting here for over 4 hours now and the installer is about 10% done. Yesterday I tried to install the game and after 7 hours it had reached 20%.

I am using Windows XP (by choice because modern Windows OSes suck BAD!) and like the poster above I own the physical 5 disc set and had no problem installing the game from that last year but this Gog installer is taking way too long even with all the expansions.
