Hi!
This game plays nice on my Windows 10 PC, but I can't host a multiplayer game.
Everything goes alright with MULTIPLAYER > INTERNET but then, when I press the HOST button the game suddenly shows a window saying "Civ3Complete has stopped working"
Some help with this?
Thanks!

Hi,

I have the same exact problem, except I am trying to use Hotseat mode. It crashes instantly.

Tried this on Virtual Win XP. Got passed the crash but then all buttons were inactive...
If DirectPlay may be missing in Windows 10 and this will cause a crash when starting a multiplayer game or loading a multiplayer save game. Double check to make sure DirectPlay is installed. It is not installed on Windows 10 by default.

To do this, go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Turn Windows Features On or Off. Click the + sign next to Legacy Components and make sure the check box next to DirectPlay is checked.

PS: Massive props to Cycu from GOG Support for figuring this out!
PPS: thanks to bsghost for posting this at forums.civfanatics.com
PPPS: I will post this at every thread I was reading that didn't address the issue.
