I've been watching gog daily since SMAC was announced even though I've never bought anything here before. I can feel the full SMACX experience coming, so I finally signed up for an account.

Is anyone else optimistic?
Unfortunately I'm not particularly optimistic about any EA expansions showing up in the near future. Someone from GOG stated in another thread that there are serious complications involved in getting many of the expansions here, which I'm guessing means that there are additional rightsholders involved with the expansions. So while I'd love to see Alien Crossfire show up here I just can't be reasonable optimistic about it.
I hate it when copyright issues don't benefit the holder and just keep content away from people interested in it :(
Well.. if SMAX was released, or even hinted at a possible release, I'd buy this game in an instant. As it stands.. I love AC, it's by far my favorite iteration of this type of gameplay, but I had played with the expansion for years.. not sure i could get into playing it vanilla again.
Hoping for SMAX as well. I would buy in a heartbeat so I didn't have to worry about my CDs any longer, but SMAC alone is rather useless without the expansion.
Agreed, The expansion makes it a much better game.
I don't suppose that, if it's released here, EA's licensing terms won't stipulate that new and current customers buy the expansion separately?

(Huh, lookit that. About one reply per month.)
Not going to say where, but there is a company that still sells the expansion, so there IS hope that gog'll get it.
