I've released version 1.28 of my SMACX AI Growth mod. 5.5 PERSON MONTHS of full time development, spread over 10 calendar months. This is not amateur hour, this is professional grade game design. Try it!

See the attached screenshot of the different Social Engineering Choices available. If you tried out 1.27, here are the highlights:

- Information Networks is now fairly easy to obtain. Previously it could become an insurmountable barrier for non-Discover factions. It also grants the Probe Team module, making probe teams really easy to obtain.

- Weapons and armor now increase greatly in expense as tech progresses, so that getting Fusion Power doesn't turn the game into a cakewalk.

- Overpowered buffs such as Soporific Gas Pods cost a lot more and are moved later in the tree.

- Genetic plagues are not available early anymore. They were overpowered.

- Centauri Preserve, Brood Pit, and Temple of Planet are more firmly in the Explore tree and are harder to obtain.

- Orbital Spaceflight must be obtained before the Space Elevator.
