My memory might be failing me but i dont remember having to set my preferences every time i start up a new game. Things like secret project movies off, show tiles etc.
Is it just not saving the preferences permanently or is that how it always was.

On Linux preferences are persistent, saved in ~/.loki/smac/Alpha_Centauri.ini.
I guess some similar file would be used on Windows.
