Hi, this game works great under windows 7.

However, my friends and I have been unable to get a multiplayer game to work.

We've seen the following errors:

With direct IP (with & without router) - Game not Found. We've tried both using hamachi and just basic without any sort of networking software assistance.

We've also tried using GameRanger, which seems to get further but ends up throwing a DirectPlay error stating that DirectX 5 is missing

:(

Anyone have luck getting multiplayer to work under win7/vista?

I have had a similar issue. I e-mailed GOG about it and they suggested I look into having the firewall make an exception for the game. I believe it had to do with the caliber of protection my girlfriend and I were operating under (she has a business class firewall) and it didn't occur to either of us to make sure the router was not silently blocking the game.

Unfortunately I have not had an opportunity yet to see if the game will work with the lesser security on my computers at home or to tinker with the firewall settings. So at this point until I get back to my home computer, I can only pass along what GOG suggested.

I got it to work with a pair of friends and I using LogMeIn Hamachi and runing it as a LAN game. No real issues seen in my short play time, although the built in voice chat is hilarious (not sure if was originally that distorted, but it's robot-voice quality).
Found out that both the people hosting and joining need to forward ports 2300-2400 TCP/UDP (if you can't forward ranges try just 2300 TCP and 2350 UDP), and the host needs to forward port 47624 TCP. This is the same as ALL directplay games. (See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240429)

This gets me to the lobby, but then it times out, so there must be more to it...
