Every time I start the game I get that popup and a ok to continue or cancel option. Is there a way to disable this on start-up? The game works with hitting OK but just a pain to wait for it to popup and select every time.

I'm getting this too. My guess is that anyone running it on a 64bit processor is as well.
I've had it happen for years, on both 32 bit and 64 bit systems. It's an annoyance, but not much else. And as far as I know, you can't get rid of it.

The unofficial patch fixes it.

I (happily) stand corrected.

On that note. Is there any way to tell what patch version the Gog version is on? Do we need the 4.0 and compatibility patch installed before installing unofficial? Does the unofficial work with this? Is it already installed? xD
I'm using 7 x64 but I'm not getting this popup at all, everything works perfectly for me.
Are you sure you did not modify the game with unofficial patches or set compatibility mode (you shouldn't)?
Yeah, same here, W7 64 and no such pop up.
Even without the unofficial patch, some systems display the "CPU not supported" and some don't. To display the version number in game, go MENU --> HELP --> Show Version Number. The gog version shold display Release 5.0, which is the number of the most recent official patch (also known as the "Win2k/Vista compatibility update."
I also get the popup and I have win7 64bit. Amd 6 core. Anyway, not a bother really. And thanks for the above, will try out the unofficial patch.
can somebody tells me where can i find the unofficial patch? just have same issue, thanks!
i got same issue too
