Aren't the Consciousness faction supposed to have no penalty for the "cybernetic" future society?

Because they have the penalty in the version of the game that i downloaded yesterday.

I have the same problem. When i change the social model to cybernetic, i have police penalty. Any sugesstions how to fix it?

I think this was a problem with GOG's original release of SMAX. It was corrected by a subsequent patch. Go to

http://www.gog.com/game/sid_meiers_alpha_centauri

and download and install the most recent version of the game. If that doesn't fix the problem, please post again. You may have to start a new game for the fix to take effect. (The specific problem with the Cyborgs can be fixed by modifying a text file, but the most recent version of the game also fixes other problems.)
