I am wondering if this will run on macs not included in the description? I am willing to take a performance hit to be able to play this game again. Didn't know if it was just that certain computers were known to work well versus others or it won't let it play period on older macs.

Well, I answered my own question. I took a chance and downloaded SMAC for my mac. I have a mac mini 2007-8 with 2GHZ Core 2 Duo with the stock 2GB of RAM. It uses that terrible Intel GMA 950 Integrated video. But the game worked great played at 1280x1024. Played a standard SMAC last night. Video, graphics, sound, movement all went well. Occasionally would hang (might be during autosave) for a few seconds here are there but nothing that crashed or hurt game play. Just breathe and it was back. Probably not the supported set-up, but it does work if anyone wants to try. Thanks GOG.
