Can you play this game online? Are there any servers up with this game?
Yes, but you need GameSpy Arcade. The app doesn't detect the game by default, so you need to manually add it to the game browser. Alternatively, VPN apps like Hamachi can be used to have internet games.
Ah, k, thanks, and are there servers with people playing online on gamespy arcade?
Last time I checked, there was a server, but no one was playing. I thought having it show up on GOG might improve that, but it doesn't appear to have.

Maybe the GOG shogo players here should start a GOG SHOGO server! With password being GOG. : ) Its no fun having a game that no one plays over the net. : P

Obviously, these are my opinions:
When this game came out, I used to play online. After a couple of hours, the game's multiplayer is not very fun. The blue and yellow grenade energy weapons don't work well online. Some of the levels are very restrictive.
The mech multiplayer is a lot better. The levels are more open, and the weapons are more fun to use.
Overall, by not going online with this title, you are not missing out on anything.

Yeah, it was fun zipping around with the grapple, getting frags but there was nothing really special about the multiplayer. What really makes Shogo: MAD stand out is its presentation in singleplayer. The anime style of the game is unique, especially in FPS.
i was surfing the net and couldn't help but read your thread. visit http://shogomad.com/ there is still a server and some people play on it every once in a while. the shogo forums aren't accepting anymore users so just sign up on http://www.thegravelpit.info/forums/ shogo rocks and all those fools who claim multiplayer sucks are ignorant... 'nuff said
p.s. you don't need GameSpy arcade to play online
p.s.s. both the yellow and blue grenades can single handedly own any player if they're used well
