Like the title suggests.
Sega published the first two games, so it'd be up to them.
Well if sega wants money they can publish them here....If not , we can always play the games with the dreamcast emulator.
I'd love to see Shenmue 1+2 hit GOG.

I have that HD Collection of Shenmue 1+2 on Steam - and I'm right now 5 hours or so into Shenmue 1. Never played it before, by the way.

And yes, I am enjoying it, so far.

Great games. Take your time and explore. There is a time limit I believe but it is 4-5 months. Also Shenmue 2 is a lot better than 1, so if you like the first game you will definitely like the 2nd game.
They're profitable, so no.
Vote here for Shenmue I and Shenmue II:

i would love to see those games here...but it seems that the delay, of those games hitting the GOG store, must have something to do with contracts with online stores, and so preventing games to transit at will to this platform.

So, the real question is...for how long will Steam retain the exclusivity?

I guess...

Curious: where there ever any mods to stop the time limit?

There's really not much reason to actually mod it out of the game. No one realistically hits the bad ending without putting a great deal of effort into actually trying to play up to the cutoff date. Most people would struggle to get to March before finishing the first game, playing normally, and the date for the bad ending is April 15th.

It's not something anyone would really need to worry about.
