Hello!

I just finished the 100% speedrun. A little sad that I've done everything the game has to offer. I read somewhere that there won't be any DLC, but I'm hoping Wayforward changes their mind. I might revisit the game if it gets achievements.

Anyhoo, I've got a few more tips for you...

The game gives you 3 save files. One save file is going to be your first playthrough. The second save file is going to be your "any % super speedrun". When you get up to the point where you have to destroy the solar tower dealeys, copy your second save file to your third. It's important to do this before you destroy the towers, because a portion of the map will be gone. With your second save file, keep playing as you normally would. And...congratulations, you got the win screen for the any % super duper speed run.

Now you're thinking, "I have to start from scratch for the 100% speed run". No! Load your third save file and collect all the nuggets and hearts. Spare the towers until you got everything. I read somewhere that you need all the shop weapons (including their upgrades) for 100%. However, I was missing the third boomerang upgrade when I was going for 100% speed run. I'll give the other tips as bullet points:

- It's a good idea to occasionally go to the file select screen to see how you are doing with time and completion. Only do this after saving.

- I can't find an official time for any % fast run and 100% fast run. I beat any % fast run with 3:30. So you need at least that. I beat the 100% fast run 6 minutes shy of 5 hours.

- This guide is great for getting all the hearts (https://miketendo64.com/2020/06/03/guide-shantae-and-the-seven-sirens-heart-squids-nuggets-locations/). I have no affiliation with this site.

- Here's a visual guide if you feel you need more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPKCRs0Mo-s&t=1s. No affiliation with this channel.

- Scimitar (pikeball level 3) and invincibility (bubble level 3) still reign supreme. With your any % run, these should be the only items you get (aside from potions, if you can afford it)

- Money is a little tight with your fast runs. Here's a few ways you can get some easy cash: the chief of Tree Village will give you some gems for rescuing Vera, and the Mayor of Armour Town will give you gems after you confront him. Extra cards are pretty much currency, so visit the collector when you can.

- You don't need cards for 100% completion. I only had a handful on both of my fast runs.

- Max shampoo/silky cream certainly helps

- Do a normal run first. The meta info you get will come in handy

- You should only get two extra heart containers (8 heart squids total). More than that and you are just wasting time. You need all squid hearts for your 100% fast run, but vising the blacksmith means you'll have to go through the dialogue and animation for each heart container. Spamming start will speed things up (with the dialogue, not the animation). Even with that it's not worth all the heart containers. Just get two extra containers (8 squid hearts) and you're fine.

- When doing the dancing minigame to get the squid heart, save first. Give yourself two tries, if you can't get it after the second attempt, reset the game and try again. Don't bother with the dancing game on your any % run. You need to do it once with the story, but after that just leave it.

- Best to get the dancing game out of the way first when doing your 100% run, IMO.

- Have a check list for all the places you cleared, so you don't go back unnecessarily.

- Each overworld section would take 10ish minutes to collect everything.

- Don't fight anything unless you absolutely have to

- You should be mostly using newt dash to traverse the map.

- Save often. If you think you've wasted too much time, reload your save.

- Don't bother looking for nuggets in labyrinths. They don't have them. Each labyrinth has three squid hearts.

- The map screen will only tell you where you are when you are in a labyrinth. It'll show your position, but not the name if you are in the overworld. You can get that info on the pause menu screen.

That's all I can think of for now. If you have any questions, see any errors, or would like to add to my post, feel free to reply. I apologize for any inaccuracies in this thread. I'm a little sleep deprived ATM.
