I first time launch asked for a firewall pass I gave it. Just curious why?
Thanks

Just some data collection. AFAIK it's statistics related to the game, which the devs have likely (erroneously) used to make assumptions about how people play, which has likely impacted future games.

Most Unity games do this by default, which is annoying.

Personally, I rarely let games through firewalls unless I'm playing multiplayer. There's likely enough data leakage on my PC just by using the internet that I don't need any more from every game wanting to send stats (which invariably are misinterpreted anyway).

According to the old FAQ (can't find it anymore) this is a local-only connection which allows the editor to talk to a running copy of the game for mod testing purposes.

Well if it's only connecting to your local PC (i.e. 127.0.0.1) then surely it wouldn't require firewall permission?
