I'm having an issue on my desktop running SRHK, the game starts ok but there is no sound.

I tried out the solution in this thread for dragonfall with the same issue, i set /etc/asound.conf to:
```
defaults.pcm.card 2
defaults.ctl.card 2
```
corresponding to:

```
card 2: USB [Scarlett 2i2 USB], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
```
But this just causes the game to start crashing on start up.

I'm using arch linux and the heroic launcher

here is my error log

If I remember right, I think I had this problem too. The sound is actually running, you just have to switch to or unmute the app. For some reason it doesn’t default to active. I never dug into why.

Since you are running arch, I assume KDE is your desktop (like any man of culture and good taste :) ).

If so, just click on the speaker icon in tray and make sure the devices and applications are set correctly.

Hopefully this will get everything running for you. Enjoy the game! It is my favorite of the trilogy.

I'm using XFCE actually :p though I did use KDE for a long while, it's very sleek, but when it breaks it breaks hard!

I did check that though, it doesn't show up in my audio mixer (pavucontrol) at all unfortunately, the game audio does work on my laptop (though it lags and runs hot a bit, old thinkpad)

This is a replay actually! Love the shadowrun games, finished a dragonfall replay last year so thought I'd finally come back to hong kong as I never played the DLC or the directors commentary (:

One other thing to try would be to make sure you have a 32-bit sound system installed. The sound won't run without it. Now that I think about it, I'll bet that is why one has to manually switch to the application to enable the sound. Although that is just a guess.
