warning spoiler: dont read THIS if you want to play dragonfall!

so chummers, I really have big problems with the APEX level. I have absolutely no idea how to solve this. Not the matrix is the problem, thats easy to beat. But the problem are the endless waves of drones and cultists and the fact that I only can activate one pair of autocannons.

I tried several tactics but none of them have been successful

-defending the central room with the connection with 2 runners (result: flank rooms got overrun and reprogrammed)
-defending both flank rooms with the apex nodes with 1 or 2 runners against those pesky cultists (result central room was killed by the drones)

either the nodes got reprogrammed or the central interface got killled by drones, not much chance for my party.

The level lasts up to 2h to play so I am willing to give up the game, because if eats up my time and I dont have the spare time solve an impossible scenario. But maybe I have overseen an winner tactic or some clues before?

Depends on your party makeup. Who are you rolling with, and what kind of character are you playing as?

my party is: eiger (fighter), glory (close combat) and dietrich (shaman). My char is a decker.

Same composition as my party then. I initially lied to the AI, used their help in activating the bank of turrets to the east, then stationed my party in the room to the West after switching the first switch. The fighters and mage funneled their firepower at the enemy as they came through the doors while my decker stayed on the move to activate the second switch, occasionally stopping to mark a target if I had time. I kept Eiger behind a desk near the console room so that should could relocate to a point where she had a line of sight on someone in the eastern room. After that, it was just a question of relocating the team to the room where invaders were about to come in and repeating the same.

thanks. I am doing similar to you - keeping eiger in cover but this is not enough against when a drone wave is coming from each side. the problem I have is that I had a time during APX rewrite of the programm which lasts 10 turns or more (after the activation of the second apex node the AI begins to rewrite its prog). where I had to fight against 2 drones and 10 kultists (which I could manage) and after killing them another wave with 4 drones AND 10 cultists at the same time. I clinked even my decker out from the matrix to have him support the rest of the crew but no chance - at least one drone comes always through my line and destroyed the consoles with only 3 hits. If I spend my firepower to the drones, the cultist reprogram the apex nodes and I have to use monica avatar to run through all matrix rooms to activate the node a second time.

I now spent more time with repeating this mission over and over than with all missions of the whole game before. I am really fed up that I cannot come to a solution. :/

Edit: finally I was able to solve the level and continue the game

O.o
Never had problem with that mission. Often even Blitz had nothing to do after turning on one of turrets node - Eiger with shotgun on one side with turrets and my Melee Samurai with Glory on the other one killing everything with grenades/katanas. On Very Hard difficulty setting in fact the only fight i had problems was the last one - and it was because of timer.

But even if You have some problems with fights it is worth to spare a while to proceed :D
