The game runs great and is a blast, but checking into the editor I noticed a few things:

1. I can't seem to test anything I toss together following the official tutorials.

2. If I publish a test file locally, it won't load in the game.

Is there something I am missing?

What do you mean by "it won't load"?
Can you provide specifics about the exact process you are performing and the problem that results please.

According to the developer the game cannot tell the difference between a steam release and local release.
The only difference is that publish to steam automatically uploads the zip file with the compiled UGC while publish locally doesn't automatically upload that zip file.

It won't load as in when I try to start a game using the thrown together level from the official tutorials, it does not load. It says loading and just stops there. I let it sit for twenty minutes.

It also won't dump the test file into the game engine if I attempt to use the test option in editor.

I load the editor by opening the game first and launching it through the content menu.

I also mentioned nothing about Steam or using other content pack, for example I have dumped quite a few hours into Shadowrun Unlimited without problem. I mentioned nothing about attempting to upload either. Your response honestly comes across as a tad rude considering it seems like you barely read my post and assumed I was having issues with things I haven't even brought up, and asking questions I never asked. I posted to see if there was something I was missing, or it somehow something got messed up during install. After not getting answers in any of the three places I posted thinking I might until your first response here, I simply reinstalled a few hours ago and haven't had an issue since. I came here to post that but after seeing your response I felt the need to address it.

Bottom line is that something mucked up during the initial install, a reinstall corrected it.

Sepherose: I also mentioned nothing about Steam or using other content pack,
I know it didn't, it didn't mention anything useful at all.
Which is why I asked for more info giving examples and asking for commonly useful info and explained some general information about how it works.

Sepherose: Rude
I was the epitome of politeness

Sepherose: Didn't read my post
I did. it was extremely vague and lacking in detail.
It also explicitly titled "with GOG version" which suggests that the issue is specific to the GOG version and doesn't occur with publish to steam.

Does it ask you to start a new character/import one? Does it hang at a black screen? are any UI elements visible? Does a loading screen get displayed? Does it hang after or before the character creation menu? Does it cause the game to appear as "not responding" to windows?

Regardless, obviously something is amiss with the module you built (which is not necessarily your fault, it could very well be an error in the toturial).
It is absolutely impossible to tell what from such a description though, you will need to post the example module's source files and get someone more experienced to download and take a look at them and see what the issue is.

So you have both the game and the editor running?
Because the game needs to be running.
Sometimes when I try to test a scene it won't start it either, but then I just click on it again and it works.
Have only now installed 1.1.1, but worked as described before.

I think even if you forgot stuff like player spawners it should at least show a black screen.

As I stated, I followed the official tutorials. Players spawn points, enemies, all of that. I also made sure that I had the option of importing or creating a character. Trying either one caused the game to hang indefinitely on the loading screen.

Yes I had them both running.

As I stated though, I corrected the issue through a fresh DL and install of the game. Something was apparently amiss with my install and now it works after following the tutorials.
