The game's fun, but I've found several bugs in Shadowrun Hong Kong. I haven't gotten very far into it, yet. I'm playing the Mac version.

- Visual glitch on the Karma spending screen. Sometimes, there's a 1 pixel wide light-blue vertical bar between the 5th and 6th dots.
- In City of Darkness (the first mission, where you're in the Walled City), defeating the Yellow Lotus Enforcer in combat and taking the credstick off his body (whether he's dead or simply subdued by Duncan) doesn't give you any Nuyen, but returning the credstick to the old man still removes 63 Nuyen from your account.
- When Duncan wakes up after you have a nightmare in Heoi, when you leave the Bolthole, sometimes he keeps the speech bubble and interactability when he follows you off the ship. Makes for a non-sequitur when you speak to him outside and he talks about being in private or how he's laid out his stuff in his room.
- In The Dig, the counters for how many Nuyen of treasures you've stolen and how many you can steal before the alarms go off does not appear unless you save and reload the game. Edit: It also appears if you open the PDA menu and close it again.
- Also in The Dig, I had a weird bug when leaving after getting the books and using the security terminal on the upper level. The door by the entrance closed (but did not lock) as I was about to move through it. After opening it again, I went to the objective location that presumably should have been the exit, but there was nothing there to interact with.

Edit: A couple more.
- Wild Aim II sometimes affects 3 targets instead of 2. This seems to occur most often when one of the first two targets is already affected by a previous casting.
- Koitsche (Racter's drone) shows an "Immune" message when Racter uses buffing tune-ups on it. I haven't tested this in depth, but I've seen the message appear with the accuracy boost and the movement/AP boost tune-ups. No green ongoing effect text appeared on the drone after use, although it did gain the +1 AP for that turn correctly.

Edit:
- Another significant bug, happens everywhere. Sometimes, all of the interaction indicators and the little circle that appears when you click to move outside of combat just disappear for a little while. Seems to happen most after interacting with something.
- Visual glitch. If you end combat with your main character on a Medium+ Dragon Line, when you start combat again, it will (incorrectly) show the reduced spell cooldown until you go to a different active character. Actual spell cooldown properly uses the normal cooldowns.

Rather than creating a new thread I will post the bugs I found here too. (Linux version)

Minor:
-The intelligence option with the Bookshelf in The Dig can only be choosen once.

Medium:
-The armor value doesn't seem to get updated after equipping new armor in combination with having the leopard totem. (I don't know if the same happens without the totem.) Only after reloading old savegames the value sometimes changes.
-Used dialogue choices sometimes disappear after reloading a save from before a converstion.

Game-Breaking:
-After reloading a save in HEOI from inside The Dig mission:
1) I again gain the Karma from the first mission.
2) The mission compass leads me to Cheng again who has nothing new to say.
3) I can't access the Bolt Hole (and mission computer) anymore. (!)
4) The Conversation with Crafty got partially reset.

I think I will hold off playing until the first patch is out. Don't want to find out after a few hours of playtime that my choices got messed up by a loading bug or something similar.
Here's my list (as of Prosperity Tower 2nd area, finished all runs except the Artifact Liberation mission)

Minor:
-The following mission items weren't cleaned up:
--Chip Cylinder (didn't give it to Mathew - useless, but technically still in my posession)
--The Shiny Object - this should be sleeping with the fishes
--Experimental Tissue Samples&Experimental Data - Kindly should've taken this, I went with the "you're both crazy" resolution of that run.
-Sometimes it takes a long while for your followers to start following you - doesn't matter normally, but is a serious annoyance when you have to be stealthy
-It's possible to add at least 7 programs to the Fairlight Excalibur, which is supposed to be able to host only 6.

Gamebreaking:
-In the first matrix of the Prosperity Tower, security node, I deployed a bruiser and attacker ESP. After combat ended the attacker vanished but the bruiser stayed in game, after my decker jacked out control transfered to it, so the game was stuck in the matrix
-When exiting to the main menu afterwards, the game hangs and has to be terminated

Design issues:
-Deck config isn't saved, which means you add the same programs over and over again.
-Still can't name savegames. I mean, it's not like we have to accomodate consoles... Save early, save often.

I can add at least one more major bug in the Linux version of Hong Kong:

First mission on arrival in Hong Kong docks area, the fight with the police after the two shadowrunners and Carter are shot.

If you use Gobbet to raise a spirit from the nearby pile of debris on the other side of the street the game immediately falters and crashes in Linux.

I've checked it twice and it crashed both times.

On the Windows version there's a predictable but brief pause when she raises the same spirit. Perhaps the glitches are related.

Minor glitches: Opening the karma assignment page generates a 3-4 second pause in the game, related to the karma page is adding points to skills can also generate short pauses.

OpenSUSE 13.2 x64 XFCE desktop
AMD Catalyst 15.7 drivers
AMD 7850 w 2GB vram
Core I5 quad 2400
16GB RAM

Personally, I don't mind not being able to name save games. My names usually end up generic anyway: Mage mission 2 a (2b) (2c) etc... Might as well let the game do it for me with a bit more detail.

Skills:

Mystic Armor for Adepts seems bugged in multiple ways.

- It shows a requirement of 6 for Qi Casting, but all that does it let you equip it for the passive. You need Qi Casting 8 to actually use the active portion. I believe this is a bug since no other Qi spells behave in this way.

- The passive seems to either bug your armor value or at least the display of it. Since equipping it once my armor value has been stuck at the same value on the stats screen, even after acquiring new armor and removing the spell from my active list. This is probably related to the same bug that tknp reported with the leopard totem.

[Update] The armor issue seemed to resolve itself after completing a run.

The Subdue skill (Duncan) which takes a stunned enemy out of combat, seems to bug combat so that it doesn't end. It thinks the enemy is still alive, but that enemy is perma-stunned and can't be killed.

Dialog:

- I had a long convo with the woman in the mage shop at the start of the game, then visiting her later started another whole new conversation where she didn't recognize that I had already spoken with her before. I think this occurs if you talk to her before you receive the email from Gobbet about talking to her.

- The dialogs with the 3 men on the docks sometimes trigger multiple times and play the same conversation. I'm not sure what causes this.

Missions:

- Gobbet's side mission "The Sinking Ship", seems to have been extremely rushed. There's multiple ways to break it to the point where you can't even finish it, problems with items appearing multiple times in your inventory, and the boss fight is incredibly easy even on hard. They need to take a good look at that whole mission in terms of bugs and design. The reward for completing the mission a certain way is also bugged and doesn't appear to use.

General:

- A 3 - 4 second delay occurs when loading the karma screen, it's extremely annoying after a while.

Not sure if these are bugs as such or just stuff that was originally intended to go in but then kind of cut (I've played the relevant levels and then afterward looked at the scripts to see what could/should have happened):

Note this is for the windows version.

- In Is0bel's mission, there's an "item" you can get, which sounds like Is0bel's description of a "cutting-edge" deck. Strangely though, if you get Is0bel to look at it, you don't get the item - but if you go hostile and attack the decker in the VIP room, you DO get it.
- But unfortunately the above doesn't appear to be that relevant, since you can't do anything with the item anyway (despite the fact it says "the shadow community would be interested").
- Also not sure if this item is ever cleaned up if you do aquire it.

- Same mission as above, you're apparently supposed to get +2 karma for "reconciling with Rhombus". The script at the end of that mission checks for a flag to be true. This flag is only set in one place - in the Rhombus conversation - but it's set to FALSE, so the corresponding trigger doesn't fire correctly. So in other words, no extra karma no matter what.

- I can verify that I also have had the conversations wig out on me if I reloaded a game in the main hub. WORKAROUND: Quitting to the main menu, and then loading the game from there, should ensure the conversations work correctly. Apparently loading while already on a level does strange things on some maps, especially the hub.

- Destination "circles" etc. have disappeared on me as well. Most noticeable in the matrix.

- Possibly related to the above - once turn-based mode is over in the matrix, the watcher IC doesn't start moving until you click somewhere. This might be intentional though so you don't get spotted the instant you finish turn-based mode.

- A number of skill-based checks don't work correctly, such as one requiring Decking 5 for Ambrose (remained dark even though I met the requirement).

Edit:
- The paydata that you retrieve from the matrix in Sangri-La stays in your inventory, but cannot be sold via the Mission computer (or elsewhere).

A significant bug for deckers:

If you buy the Novatech Slimcase deck and take it to the "Bad Qi" mission, you will not be able to jack into the Matrix at the beginning of the mission as there will be no option to jack in, only to walk away. Although the proper authorisation is reachable by different means, you will miss out on the paydata for that mission. One workaround is to bring another deck to "Bad Qi" (I was able to jack in using the cheapest one). Novatech Slimcase works in subsequent missions, so I'm not sure whether it's that particular jackpoint or deck that is bugged.

Also, I can confirm the above poster's bug report regarding the paydata from the Shangri-La mission.
Anybody else notice that events don't properly reset when you load a game? After I finished Outsider and returned to Heoi, I gave Maximum Law the news about it (all the evidence, elders arrested, Gaichu with me). Then I reloaded the game from the quicksave I made just before speaking to him, and he doesn't even bring up metadata at all.

Actually now that you mention it, I believe the Slimcase also bars a decker from accessing the matrix in the Shangri-La mission. When I tried, I only had the option of either walking away or letting Is0bel jack in (since I happened to bring her).

Looking at the way the scripts work, the bug is with the jack-in points and not the deck, since the jack-in conversation explicitly checks for a character to have decking >=1 and one of a list of decks. If the deck's not in the list then the option to jack in won't appear.

So it appears the devs forgot to add the newer decks (the slimcase, and possibly also the Highlander?) to some of the jack-in points.

Another possible bug: Ranged combat requirement for one of the higher-tier pistols (the "favourite of Lone-Star" with burst capability) is 7 for the standard one, but for some reason requires Ranged Combat 8 for the smartlink version.

Story-related bug: there's an option that should have appeared just prior to entering the Walled City at the end based on "what I told Raymond" way back when, but the game seems to have forgotten that I even had this conversation so the flag must not be set. Therefore, it was impossible for me to "trick" the final boss, which should have been an option. Possibly related to how characters "forget" conversation threads if reloading a save from the hub.

Gloranor: Gamebreaking:
-In the first matrix of the Prosperity Tower, security node, I deployed a bruiser and attacker ESP. After combat ended the attacker vanished but the bruiser stayed in game, after my decker jacked out control transfered to it, so the game was stuck in the matrix
This screwed me over so many times, as it occurs in every Matrix scenario, and at first I thought that maybe it was just a one time issue, but no, this thing with the bruiser ESP happens every time you deploy it

Related to this:
- after deploying the bruiser ESP, I couldn't order it to move or attack until my character has used up all of their AP
- after ordering an exploder ESP to self-destruct, I was unable to carry out other actions, or end my turn, and hostile ICs also stopped moving/attacking, and once again the game was stuck in the Matrix

Unrelated to the above:

- the side quest concerning Maximum Law is really bugged: after I told him to leave Heoi, he remained there and I could still interact with him, but his replacement puppet also appeared
- when I chose to ignore Bao's message about Law he disappeared and was replaced by the puppet, but after 1 or 2 conversations with him he stopped having dialogue options, effectively making it impossible to buy more tech
- even though I had previously killed Gaichu in the Whampoan Elders mission, he appeared on the party selection screen before heading out to the endgame run to the Walled City
- I was also able to make a dialogue check which required 5 Quickness and at the time I was positive I only had 4 karma in that trait (unfortunately I forgot which check this was)
- at times, Is0bel's 'Mark Target' ability disappeared during combat, at other times it was available again

Oh, that explains this wierd dialog on the DeckCon-Mission. The NPC didn't acknowledge the deck on my back and treated me like your run-of-the-mill streetsam. Also carried the Slimcase in that mission. So back to the seller it goes, I guess.
After the final run, you find our team members gathered in one room on the ship, after which they all disperse to their respective cabins, except Gaichu. The only thing left before completing the game is to have a final conversation with each character, but Gaichu is unresponsive and doesn't return to his cabin. Neither reloading nor re-entering the area helps.
The monomolecular whip deals AP damage despite what the description says. The stats for each attack reflect the AP damage though, so it's hard to tell if it's really a bug or if the description itself is incorrect.

The whip's damage also scales with strength.
I can't access prosperity tower.

When I try to choose it at the train station the dialogue box closes, screen darken... and then nothing. I can walk around, but the exit points are gone and I can't access the menu. I have tried to reload a save from before entering Heoi and getting to the same point, got the same results.
This game has a ton of bugs.

But I'm only wondering about one right now. It seems the game won't let me side with the Yama King/Queen at the end. The game just gets stuck on enemy turn, after killing Raymond and one of the others. Maybe it's Gobbet that is freezing it with the summon, fortunately this time I saved right before.

Edit-Well I figured out a way to get it. Basically let them die...actually takes a lot of turns, that final boss actually doesn't seem to want to do much usually.

So I've seen all three? endings. I should still probably try our mage and close combat playthroughs, but, eh. I got my $20 worth I'm pretty sure and that's good enough.
