Hi, several people already addressed music not playing by default in Twin Dragon but I think the issue is bigger than that.

I already suspected that Twin Dragon should have it's own soundtrack and found confirmation on Shadow Warrior's Wikipedia page which says:

"It [...]
features music by Castles Music Productions."

As far as I can tell just turning on the music in the options menu simply plays the audio tracks from the original Shadow Warrior CD (which as you may know was composed by Lee Jackson, not "Castles Music Productions"). It seems that GOG did not include the audio tracks of the original Twin Dragon CD. I've googled around a lot and was unable to find the original audio anywhere. Does anybody know more about this? Perhaps where to find the proper soundtrack in MP3 format or something?

Edit:
Started looking for the company which made the music but sadly it doesn't seem to exist anymore. I checked Twin Dragon's readme file and it turns out that the composer's name is Simon Castles. Sadly he's just as hard to find as any solid information on his company. Me angry, me want that musiiiiic!

Edit 2: Shit... I just found this article:
http://www.tsumea.com/australasia/new-zealand/news/120705/simon-castles-passing-away
He died of cancer in 2005. :(

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I've been doing some search for this too, and have a question: Was Twin Dragon ever actually released on CD?

I bought this as part of 3D Realms Anthology, and got Twin Dragons separately, so I don't know how it looks on the GOG version, but I found this additional text file on mine:

*******************************************

"July 4th, 1998 - Twin Dragon for Shadow Warrior is released!!!
Indianapolis, IN - Wylde Productions

After many months of sitting pretty much ignored on a hard drive at our publisher, whom we won't name, but they know who they are, we have finally retained the rights back to release our add-on. The people at Wylde Productions and Level Infinity worked their asses off on a very tight schedule to create a commercial add-on, but it was dropped by the publisher ** after it had been developed for FOUR MONTHS! ** for reasons unknown to us. We couldn't get a straight answer from them. We believe it was due to their poor judgment in contracting 3 separate Shadow Warrior addons before Shadow Warrior was even released. When Shadow Warrior sales were not what they expected we think they decided not to invest more money into the production of the addons. Unfortunately, we are the ones who suffered because we had already invested months for hard work.

We won't get into bickering or name-calling here, but our collective opinion of said publisher is lower than a worm trying to jump onto the sidewalk at this point.

We held up our part of the agreement, but due to some people taking vacations, not getting back to us, delay after delay, and one excuse after another, we finally demanded that they return the rights so that we could at least release Twin Dragon to the Internet community for free rather than have it forever filed away never to be seen and enjoyed. We are VERY proud of what we accomplished in so little time, and it's too bad that it didn't make it out from the publisher, but that was their call.

It's also too bad they couldn't have had the good conscience to pay us the remainder of the development fee they still owe us, ethically speaking, even if not legally.

Now we would like to offer Twin Dragon to you on the 4th of July to help make this holiday season the most explosive event you've ever experienced. You must hunt down Lo Wangs evil twin brother Hung Lo, and destroy him. He's just like Lo Wang....well, not exactly. You'll see!

Twelve New Mission Levels
Three New Wang Bang Levels
Plus other surprises!
Twin Dragon kicks some major ass!
Download it for FREE and see for yourself.

3D Portal is mirroring the download as well, check their site for the location."

It seems to suggest that the game was never released on CD. Perhaps the original music never saw the light of day?

I'm wondering if someone who was playing the game back then remembers if there was a Twin Dragon CD with original music.

EDIT:
Another thing I noticed.

The executable credits mention Simon Castles for "Music and sound effects" (see attachment).

The readme on the other hand has this only:
Sound F/X - Simon Castles

It was not. That's most definitely the reason why the soundtrack was never published. The addon was released digitally in 1998, it would have been insane to offer the entire disc image including the CD audio back then (the audio tracks being many times as large as the addon itself), so they obviously chose to release it without the music. Sadly that's the version we're stuck with to this day. I tweeted to two guys who worked on the addon (since the composer died ten years ago) but sadly they did not reply.

The question is whether 3D Realms or the addon's developers ever even got Castle's music in the first place.
