So I decided to play Shadow Warrior with my Ultra Wide monitor. But when I started the game the menu got chopped off. And when I start a new game the game crashes. I have the same problem with the Steam version.

Can anybody help me?

Edit: I just tried the Duke Nukem 3D Megaton edition and got the same problem.

I cannot help you, but I can confirm, that since I got this game for free Dec 2016 I cannot play this game. Each time I see only launcher screen and after it disappear task ends itself without any error.

Edit: I google and found solution for my problem caused by galaxy.dll https://www.gog.com/forum/shadow_warrior_series/shadow_warrior_classic_complete_crash_at_startup_when_internet_access_is_blocked

Edit2: I sent this info to gog support.

I can also confirm this crashes while game tries to load first level (got asus pg348q ultrawide)
Actually I solved this thing a month ago by contacting GOG support. You need to install some old DirectX driver.

Should have posted it here but I forgot about it.

Which driver do you need?

Not sure but might be this one. https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Edit:
So I just contacted GOG again because I reinstalled my PC and this was what they said.

Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Packages:
x86: http://files.gog.com/support/MSVC2012/vcredist_x86.exe
x64: http://files.gog.com/support/MSVC2012_x64/vcredist_x64.exe

Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Packages:
x86: http://files.gog.com/support/MSVC2010/vcredist_x86.exe
x64: http://files.gog.com/support/MSVC2010_x64/vcredist_x64.exe

DirectX Web Installer:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35

Also they said that you need to be 1920x1080 or lower higher will crash the game.

I found rolling back to the previous patch (1.1.6 gog-2, or something like that) fixed the issue.
I got same crash. All dlls and dx have installed, but i can't play.

From the FAQ link:
Q: How do I play Shadow Warrior and its two expansions: Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon?

A: Download EDuke32 via the Synthesis builds, which now include the program "VoidSW", the new EDuke32-based sourceport for Shadow Warrior and its two mission packs:

1) Go to https://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/synthesis/
2) Download either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of EDuke32 and extract the contents to a folder of your choice.
3) Place SW.GRP, SW.RTS, WD.GRP, and TD.GRP in the same folder as the VoidSW executable.
4) Double-click on the VoidSW executable.
5) The VoidSW startup menu should now show the base Shadow Warrior game and both mission packs.
6) Select either the base Shadow Warrior game or one of the mission packs and press Start.

Q: How do I enable Shadow Warrior's CD Music?

A: Do the following:

1) Create a new folder called "music" without quotes in your EDuke32 folder where the VoidSW executable is located. For example: c:\eduke32\music\
2) Place your audio files (FLAC or OGG format) within this folder using the following filename convention: track02.ogg, track03.ogg, etc. Your filenames should be track02.ogg (or flac) - track14.ogg (or .flac). For example: c:\eduke32\music\track02.ogg
3) Start Shadow Warrior and you will now hear Japanese music playing at the 3D Realms intro screen.
4) If you still do not hear music after following steps 1 - 3, check that your files are named correctly as above in step 2, then start Shadow Warrior and go to Options --> Sound --> Music.
5) Click on "Music" and make sure that the Yin / Yang symbol is illuminated.
