I have just installed SS4 on my new pc and when I start the program I get the message
Your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for this game.
- Unable to detect graphics hardware.
Do you wish to continue anyway ?

I reply Yes and the game starts, but seems rather 'choppy' and not smooth when running.
With my old pc the game ran fine with an fps from Fraps of 60. (1920x1080)
With the new pc I get an fps from Fraps of 65 which is much less that I would expect since I
can run Metro Exodus enhanced edition at about 110-150 fps 1920x1080.
Is there a patch so that SS4 will recognise my graphics card ? If not is there anything that
I can do to improve the performance ?

Version of SS4 I have is 1.08. I have now seen that the version for download is 1.09. Would downloading
and installing the new version help ?

had the same error after buying myself new gpu (rx 460 -> rx 7600). Tried reinstalling SS4 with cleared cloud saves, forcing my (only) new gpu in windows settings, and deleting drivers with amd cleanup utility, then installing adrenaline software again. Launching from galaxy, exe or amd software has the same effect.
Weird, will test some time later if error is cosmetic and if game runs fine
edit: the game seem to run fine

Had similar problems, had to manual adjust performance and visual settings to ultra/high. Be certain to turn off prebaked shadows/lighting, and turn on dynamic lighting. You may have to adjust more than the basics in the performance category. Play with the settings and you should see improvements.

The Auto config seems not to like modern drivers...

Should fix most problems.
