I have this game... I played it when I first bought it, but never finished. Not sure why, I really liked it, just probably bought some other game and started playing it. I picked it back up a year or two ago. Unfortunately, it crashes at a certain point even with the patches on a 'modern' operating system. I was never able to finish this game because of that. I'll be sure to buy this when it arrives, it's a neat little rpg. RPG fans out there will want to try this one out!
I had this game as well, but I lost the CD. This is a very good Japanese style RPG made for the PC. I made it pretty far in to the game...I'll have to grab this one.
Since I've become a poor gamer, GOG.com has been a God send heh. I hope they add more RPGs.
I think I still have my game disk but I am not 100% sure. Either way I will buy this game since it is rare that the RPG section gets any games around here that are turn-based. I liked this game. It had a unique charm to it and a pretty cool world with the shells and all. At least it's not something set in Faerun (D&D) yet again like everything else seems to be these days. Not that there's anything wrong with Faerun or D&D in general, it just doesn't use anything other than Faerun these days.
Also, I hope they patch this game to the 1.04 version...

You realize this game would've been right at home on any console? That's what it is..a console style RPG to the core (heh ...oh man I amuse myself.) Not complaining, I love console rpgs. Can't wait for this one to become available.
This is a game I had always wanted to try when it first came out but I had such a crappy system back then. I am definitely picking this one up when it's released.
I've always wanted this game, but when it came out I had a choice of buying shogo or septarra, I chose shogo. I always wanted to play this game and now i'll finally have the chance, cant wait!

If yo like console style RPGs you should like it. I mean I can't gurantee it, but I love the setting. Can't wait to buy it again.
Yeah, my copy crashed, too. Really liked this game. Will definitely pick it up.
i've been browsing the web with info related to the game. so far, there have been problems with vista and the latest version of quicktime.
a) cinematics are skipped
b) some parts of the dialogue are played fast
are these problems fixed with the version to be released by gog?

GOG says all their games work with both vista and xp. If there are problems, just post on the forums or contatct support and they are really good at helping you fix or get around them. But they optimize the games for both operating systems; so it should be better then the cd version.
I picked up this game day one when it first came out in stores. I remember liking it quite a bit but was prevented from completing it due to a game crippling bug that kept CTDing me everytime I tried to move my party from one layer of the planet to another. I must have lost interest and uninstalled it before a patch could come out because I never finished it.
Can't wait to give it another go!

God? No. Gog is the devil Himself, lord of darkness, rule of the underground who resurfaced to torment my poor soul.
So the game is worth it? i never played it, always wanted after reading a review. game seemed so cool. but i hate FF7 (i love grandia II btw)
are there many random monster encounters which pop out from nowhere (like in FF) or more like grandia II when you actually can see goddamn monster on main screen?
(that was the most awful thing in FF. I simply could not stand another fight on 5 meter long 2 meter wide bridge with monsters popping out from nowhere every few steps I take)

There are no random encounters. You can see all the monsters, so there are no annoying surprises.

Well, there are occasional ones which jump out from the background. It's more like Chrono Trigger than anything when it comes to encounter rate.
Septerra Core is a fun game, its combat is just exceptionally slow when you have less than a full party, and towards the end of the game the levels just become more and more intricate mazes, which can become irritating. If you're really into console-style RPGs, you'll have a good time. If that genre's not your cup of tea, this isn't really a standout example of the genre, so you might want to avoid it.
I jsut got this game a few days ago and have almost beaten it. I love it
