I recently downloaded Septerra Core and installed it. Everything works fine except for the movies. The game skips right over them, basically it's like they don't exist.
I tried several solutions posted on here. Updated drivers, installing the latest version of Quicktime, and reinstalling the game. None worked.
I have a Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit operating system. I read one post that some GOG.com games may not work well with Windows 7.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Have you tried turning down sound acceleration??

Is that option under the DirectX Diagnostic Tool? If so, there is no option at all to adjust it. If I'm looking in the wrong place, let me know.
Thanks for the help!

Go into your Control Panel in Win 7 and look for the Sound icon. From there go into the Audio tab and then look at the sound options there. You should see an "Advanced settings" or Advanced button on there, click it and you should see the settings for hardware sound acceleration. Turn it all the way down and then try playing a movie in Septerra Core.
You have to use Windows XP compatibility mode.

If you mean Windows XP compatibility with Quicktime then yea, I've tried that already and still nothing.
Also, I do not have the hardware sound acceleration option in the "Sounds" section.
I'm starting to think it might be something with the monitor and the resolution of the game.
Anyways, thanks for the help as always. I think I'll just watch the cut scenes on Youtube lol

Ok, admin rights Compatibility mode (Win XP SP2) + admin rights + Instaling Quick Time resolved my problem.
Hey that worked too thanks for telling me ti instal Quicktime!
Windows 7/64bit here: Compatibility mode Windows XP SP3 + K-lite mega codec pack WORKS for me.

I did not even try installing Quick time, since K-Lite codec pack already has it :)

Thank you for the hints though
