Thanks to the helpful people of this forum I've learned how to map the controls to any usb joypad no problem.

(For those who don't wish to use Joy2key, once the game is launched use the short cut ctrl-F1 to map keyboard strokes to your gamepad)

However, I can no get the controls for the second player mapped as well. You can only set the keyboard keys to one player, then map it to a gamepad. However the second player MUST use a joystick according to the control configuration. I try mapping the joystiq controls to my controllers, however this does not work. I can get the action button set, but my directions always drift.

Is there anyway I can get BOTH players running on SEPARATE usb controllers?

Do I have to buy a joystick?

Do you try two joysticks configration in INSTALL.EXE file ? If it won't work , probably you will not use second one .

this should solve your problems: http://www.sensiblesoccer.de/amigatotalpack/pc/pc_swostp_v1.5_setup.exe

now the second joypad also works and on top of that you also get all sorts of team, season, commentary, and pitch updates

all you need to do afterwards is to set the total pack to SWOS 96-97 mode and then copy the arc directory of the SWOS CD - yes, I do have it - to the ARC directory of the Total Pack - now you have the brilliant intro and the manager cutscenes in the Total Pack as well (mind you career only works in 96-97 modes and not with any of the season updates)

the Total Pack is marvellous, it makes a timeless classic even more brilliant

so, all of you who thought about doing so do indeed buy SWOS 96-97 from GOG (or another source) and use the Total Pack as a truly marvellous (!!!) patch
