This is without a doubt one the worst soccer games I have ever played. And that is because the developers didn´t care.
*The AI is inconsistent at best, but mostly cheats.
*You can count the number of sound effects on one hand.
*The mechanics when taking a corner is broken.
*The keepers almost never moves out from the goal line. If you pass back to them, they wont go for it.
*The editor is abysmal.
*The teams only have 16 players, and you cant save a changed lineup.
*The players are rated by one single star rating, so it doesn´t matter if you set a forward as a defender, the are just the same.
*The camera is so bad, so I had to download a custom user created config file to be able to anything.
*And yes, there is only one camera angle.
*If you create a custom team, the only way to make the player get better is to win tournaments, and the reward is fixed a certain player. If you for example win the premier league (38 games to play), the reward might be that your backup defender (or forward, since they can play anywhere) who hasn´t played a game gets +½ star rating. You cant give the reward to anyone else, and if you finish second you don´t get anything.
I think you missed the point...Sensi is one of the oldest football games out there and given the system limitations back in the day produces a superb, dynamic, addictive and yet simplistic 'representation' of the beautiful game. It's a million miles from the characterless high gloss of FIFA 14 but that's why we love it. I'm an old bloke and have been playing sense for over 20 years...I cannot tell you how many thousands of goals I've scored and everyone still makes me smile.
He's talking about the more recent 2006 game, the classics weren't available on GOG back in 2009 :)

The classics deserve to be called classics but that recent game - I pretty much agree with him:
"You can count the number of sound effects on one hand."
Forgot the oh-so-lively sounding supporters :D

"The keepers almost never moves out from the goal line. If you pass back to them, they wont go for it."
I remember on the console version of the game (I don't own the PC version) you can make the goalie come out using the right analogue stick, probably true with the PC version - still sucks though

"The players are rated by one single star rating, so it doesn´t matter if you set a forward as a defender, the are just the same."
To be fair (but not too fair) there are the position skills (like striker, winger etc) which change the stats of your players... but not by much, and you can't change them on your custom team or editor.

"If you create a custom team, the only way to make the player get better is to win tournaments, and the reward is fixed a certain player. If you for example win the premier league (38 games to play), the reward might be that your backup defender (or forward, since they can play anywhere) who hasn´t played a game gets +½ star rating. Way I would have done it: Tournaments remains the same since they don't take too long to play.
Leagues would be something like: 3rd = half star, 2nd = additional half star and 1st = additional half star + unlockable item. anything unlocked first time round would not be unlocked after playing again a second time.
Oh yeah, and assign the rewards yourself.

One other thing, if it were up to me - I would have made the ballplay in the game more like Sega Soccer Slam (or at least Mario Strikers since that game uses the same engine). SSS does the fast paced "pinball-like" gameplay that the classics has much better than SS2006 did.

The default version is crap, o.k.. But try installing Megapatch 4 (http://users.utu.fi/tlvais/sensi/Megapatch4/index.html). It is one of the few successful attempts of turning crap into gold. Set the AI to hard and use the Megapatch default view.
