Greetings you penguin loving warmasters

If you are like me, you might have struggled to get this game to work in wine on your preferred distro. You might have gotten into the start up menu, but as soon as you click "play" the game freezes on you.Or you are greeted with a black screen with nothing happening after that.

Well, fear not. I will present you an easy workaround that I have tested on other distros (see list below) and has worked flawlessly.

1st step: Get the correct dll

- The dll that you want to download is called "dbghelp.dll"

You can get it here: https://fix4dll.com/dbghelp_dll

- After you got the dll, copy it in your Sengoku game folder. For example : .wine/drive_c/GoG Games/Sengoku Jidai GOLD

- Your OS might ask you if you want to overwrite the existing dll. Do so.

2nd step: Create the necessary text file

- Now you have to switch to the "Sengoku Jidai" folder under "my games". For example: .wine/drive_c/users/"your username"/My Games/SJIDAI"

- Once there, create a txt file named. OPTIONS.TXT. (There is already a file named USER.TXT in the folder. It should be empty. You can copy that file and rename the copy to OPTIONS.TXT.)

- Once created, open OPTIONS.TXT with you preferred text manager and paste the following into the empty file:

SFX 127
Music 35
RezX 1280
RezY 720
Use16Bit 1
ShadowType 3
Sound 1
Shaders 1
DynEnv 1

AdvancedOptions 0

- save and close the file

Your game should work now. Enjoy!
