The original (Screamer 2) supported GLIDE - does anyone know if GoG have done their splendid glide-wrapper thing for this release ?

Yes they have. I've just installed Screamer 2 and you get regular software and 3dfx shortcut icons on desktop.

I've also checked 3dfx version and it is hardware accelerated. It runs butter smooth and whats even more incredible, you can apply anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering to it since Glide Wrapper is running through Direct3D. I was able to apply 8x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filter through AMD Catalyst Control center and the game looks absolutely fantastic.
If you try it with and without anti-aliasing you'll notice the biggest difference in main menu. No more jagged edges. This has to be one of the best GOG releases to date and brings back my childhood memories back as if they happened yesterday. I've beat the Championship back then and i'll do it again! Now in HD (so to speak) :D

I think, that is the normal viewing you got like in the old times of Screamer 2.

No, you can't get rid of the pop-ups and the draw-ins. The software rendering engine was designed to be playable on the fastest desktop CPU available at the time, which was a Pentium, but the SVGA mode was still unplayable even with the short draw distance. This was ported to 3DFX Glide without overhauling the renderer since the main reason for the 3D acceleration was to finally be able to play it in SVGA smoothly. I bet it would have been extremely choppy if the draw distance was extended and was running on the first 3DFX Voodoo card.
I have pretty bad texture seam issues in the 3dfx version which are mostly noticeable on the road. Is there an option I can use in my graphics card utility to fix this does anyone know ? (geforce 660ti). Thanks in advance.

I think those texture gaps are caused by higher resolution than the game was originally intended for, try 640x480 resolution.
