Sapphire Wings is fine, but I honestly cannot play SoSC Revisited, I cannot get any further than the main menu. I tried plugging in a gamepad and that does allow me to go up and down in the main menu, but no button (either on gamepad or keyboard) will allow me to select anything to start a new game. I think I'm gonna have to refund this as right now SoSC is completely unplayable for me.

What version are you playing? If it's not at least 1.0.5, your version is out of date, and you should try updating and see if that helps.

I'm playing it through Galaxy, so my version would be the latest one.

Just did a little test on my system.

* When starting the game with the controller plugged in, the keyboard doesn't work (except perhaps naming characters, but I didn't test that).
* When starting without the controller, the keyboard *does* work. By default, spacebar is confirm and R is cancel.

(In case it matters, I started the game directly from SwordOfAlien.exe (yes, I believe that's what the .exe is called) instead of using the launcher.)

I can't be the only one who sees the irony in that the original SoSC was a decent port with mouse support but the supposed "remaster" doesn't even have mouse support.

Was anyone able to fix this game controls?
For me the keyboard doesn't work at all, I have a wireless controller and turning it on/off doesn't do anything.
And the controller (xbox1) - only up/down stick works and that's it, can't even get past title screen.

I don't know folks, Version 1.0.9. Controls work fine. So, the OP, do get the latest.

Just to check:
* Do you have any game controllers connected? (It's possible the game might not handle keyboard + gamepad properly.)
* The default controls are arrow keys to move and space bar to select a menu option. Have you tried those?

(I just happened to re-install these games, as I'm thinking of trying a magic damage party in SoSW.)

For anyone who's still having problems with the controls not working, I found this solution on steam, that actually solved the issue for me:

There maybe a problem with the input file. Going into RegistryEditor and deleting the "ConfigData" file at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\EXP\SoA may resolve this issue.
To do this:
i. Open the Run dialog box (Win+R)
ii. Type in "regedit" (without the "") and hit enter.
iii. In the top white bar, you can copy and paste that location.
iv. Right click the "ConfigData" file and delete it.
v. Try launching the game again.
