I exchanged my Circus pass for a go at the Squid Squash, won three tickets, then tried Squid Squash again and lost all 3 tickets!
Now I can't do any of the games because they require a ticket. Since I can't do the games I can't earn more tickets. If I can't earn more tickets how will I proceed? I haven't saved since Chapter 1!
This better not be some glaring stupid design flaw in the game. :o

In case anybody else runs into this problem, I used the start of chapter 4 save-game as per this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/sanitarium/savegames/_/last

If you lose all your tickets, go to where the telescope is located and look on the ground for more. If you lose them after that, go to where the boy is lying. I am sure the each time you come up empty more will randomly appear on the ground somewhere. They are a bright orange and you get 4 in a pack. Usually when you are down to one ticket and play a game you automatically win.
