Hey all I'm having some problems connecting to Open Net Multiplayer.
I assume I entered my keys correctly since it won't let me change them now.
But I keep getting this error that says something like: TINCAT and then says something about not being able to connect.
Is anyone else having this issue? And is there a way to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
The Sacred servers were shot down some time last year. I suppose it meant the open NET as well...

That could be. I thought Open Net was supposed to stay up though.
So I guess the keys I requested were worthless after all.
Is there any other VPN that is easier to set up and use than Hamachi. A friend and I tried to get it set up the other night but I couldn't ping him. It was just getting frustrating.
Closed servers went down last year, Open Net went down in the last few months. Based on what it says in the Sacred forums, looks like it happened sometime in April with absolutely no warning. GOG may not even be aware of it.
As for VPN clients to use, Hamachi is really the only one that the minimal Sacred 1 community uses. Your problems using Hamachi probably had little to do with the client itself, it sounds like you need to set up port forwarding on both your routers correctly. That's very likely going to be a requirement/problem regardless of the VPN client used.

I tried Hamachi but there was just too much set-up involved and it was a little confusing. I did however find that Tunngle works gloriously with only 1 little set-up thing you have to do and that is simply to change the Server in the game settings to the Tunngle server and use whatever port you have opened for the game in those settings.
Tunngle is by far the easiest to get up and running. Here is the site http://www.tunngle.net
