So every time I load a game I have to start next to my tomb, regardless of where I'm at when I save? Seriously? Is that really how they designed this? If so, it's pretty crappy.

Please tell me I'm missing something. I haven't gotten very far yet.

EDIT: a little more exploration answered my question. You've got to find and activate the thingies (I forget what they're called - teleporters? altars?) and then apparently when you load a game you'll show up in the area with the one closest to where you last were.
