I'm trying to play via LAN with two computers on the same switch.
I click "LAN", go to lobby and then create a game. I'm guessing its a "listen server" but it creates and I start playing fine.
My other computer goes to Lobby, sees the game, but its "greyed out"
Even thought the host shows 1 of 4, it refuses to lest the 2nd game join.

I don't have any characters with progress because I just purchased Sacred 2.

I've tried offline with IPs like 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2
I've also tried online with IP's like 192.168.111.100 and 192.168.111.101

Firewalls are completely off in Win Vista and Windows 8
I've been reading posts online and in this forum, but no body seems to have this problem.

I have even tried using the dedicated server and console switches to create game, but only one computer can join and then it kicks the other player out.

What gives?!!!

Do you have any clue what is causing the 2nd computer to not join?
From what I see on internet , you need Hamachi to play on lan...
Are you both playing light campaign or dark campaign?

If you're playing different campaigns, e.g. one person playing light and one person playing dark, it won't let you join the other one and (frustratingly) doesn't give you an error saying that's why.

I had this problem and it ruined a LAN day with a friend for me. We didn't figure it out until long after we were sick of troubleshooting.

I figured it out, initially we were playing LAN campaign, but it refuses to allow a 2nd computer to join.
So I tried "free play" and it works perfectly.
I wish the game had a short description on what the differences are, but "free play" allows you to cooperatively play the game, complete quests, go to dungeons and expose the world.
Once you quit and start again, the game does not remember the completed quests, but you will retain your items, level, abilities, skills and exposed map.

So technically it works, but you might accidentally do some quests over again.
Thanks for your help!
