I think the game is great and I'd probably be playing it nonstop since release, if it weren't for all the optimization issues it currently has. After 6 hours of enduring sudden stuttering out of the blue, Sable getting locked gliding/sliding/climbing while walking, sudden framerate drops/spikes, I had to uninstall the game, and I've been opening my GOG library every single day ever since, hoping for that promising blue dot next to the game's name, indicating it has been updated. No such luck, so far. Someone said, around release, the devs were aware of the optimization problems with their game, and they were planning on releasing patches to address them right away. A week has come and gone, and still nothing.

Not trying to rush the guys, I'm not a game dev, I have no clue of how much time and effort patching a game takes, but considering the UNSIGHTED girls already released one patch the day after release, it also doesn't seem like an unreasonable thing to hope for.

Anyway, hopefully the game gets patched sooner than later, so people like me can finally get to enjoy the game, since, in the state it's in, right now, it's downright impossible...

Couple of hours ago, a patch on xbox and steam...

Just reached Eccra, and it's a sloppy mess.

Thanks for the heads-up; I did see the game got an update yesterday, here on GOG. Sadly, the dev added no changelog to the update, so, thanks again for providing that, too!

I've been busy playing other things (damn you, ever-growing backlog!), but hopefully Sable is at least... enjoyable, now? I'll give it a try as soon as possible.
Saw it noted in other discussions, that '1080 resolution/60fps gaming' is sometimes more dependent upon the processor than the gpu.

Shall tomorrow adjust to low res/low fov, trying different fps caps/uncapped in-game. Just to see if any benefit to fps/mouse camera control.

Feedback incoming tomorrow.
I tried it, already; the only thing I actually changed was the new Shadow option (from Default to Medium, and, in all honestly, I see no major difference in the way the game looks). I'm playing at 720p, with pretty much everything on Default (except for Shadows, as previously mentioned), at 24 fp/s because it's what makes the most sense to me, considering the game *is* supposed to look "stuttery", like you're playing a graphic novel (hoverbike gameplay does not stutter, mind you, it's just the way they animated people moving/walking in the game), and since this is not a fast-paced/high-reflexes game, but rather a slow, take-your-time exploration affair, I'd rather have it closer to a cinematic chill experience than a high-octane fighter game where I do need the highest fp/s I can get for twitch reflexes on the fly.

All I can say is: excellent job. The game is running fine for me, now, and I'm glad I postponed writing a review for Sable, because I would have been mentioning issues that are no longer such, maybe scoring it lower than what I should have, on account of technical nuisances that are now addressed (for the most part, at least; there's still a certain slowdown, especially when I was playing for a long period of time, and most noticeably in crowded areas/outposts/towns, but the hoverbike driving parts are now smooth as butter, no stuttering or slowdowns all the way through the duration of the ride, and it also stopped heating my laptop, which is wonderful). I can finally sink my teeth into this gorgeous game, which is all I wanted.

Thanks for the patch, Shedworks; as far as I can say, you did an excellent job at fixing what was wrong with your game.
Agreed.

I'm faffing around in the start map & performance has less spikes.

Suspect my i5 6500 is out-gunned by the game.

Not yet reached the Eccria slideshow.

Yet to experiment with afterburner/rtss.
update v 3 4 4

Very good to see this charabanq getting fitted with
round wheels instead of its original square ones :/

A slight improvement across the board.

Eccria isn't so much of a PowerPoint and therefore
verges on do-able, but mouse control is still very poor.

Other regions seem to have frame-rate issues
and negative mouse acceleration problems.

Noticed *some* places have 3-d vegetation replaced
by 2-d textures. Perhaps should have been an option
from the early design discussions, like the oft-mentioned
LODs and loading/unloading of assets.
One BIG problem with GOG is the lack... of updates !!
Of course I looked at Steam store (and i REALLY prefer GOG !!) and :
I can see Hotfix 3.5.13 _ 30 NOV 2021.

Can we expect this hotfix on Gog version too ???

Off-line installers at 3.6.8 now.

About to start experimenting with RivaTuner Statistics Server V-Sync and (something I've not seen before) Frame-Sync.

A few days ago, I reached out to the publishers (they handle bug reports) mentioning several problems i was having with the game, including some comparatively minor performance issues. Fortunately, the state of the game now seems a lot better than it was for some people who got it earlier than I did. I mentioned the lack of version parity on GOG as a concern, in part because of seeing this post mentioning it as a problem, and within a couple of days the game was updated (presumably what gloombandit is pointing out), and today, same day as Steam got the update, Sable updated again for me. Steam has 3.6.11 listed as its current version in the game's news pages, and that's also showing as the version number on GOG Galaxy at present (I haven't checked if the offline launcher is up to date yet or not).

Excellent work obliviondoll!

Happy to see 3.6.11 installers here (no galaxy)

Now it's on the devs to optimise the game properly.

Just discovered, watching MSI/RTSS, that my i5 6500 cpu is runnong at 800 MHz. Believe I have to set it up in some way.

Who'd have thought that instructions on the net are hard to come by :=\

I bought Sable recently and I assume that the installation files already contain all the patches - or do I have to install the patches later?

Sable runs pretty well on a dual core under Win7, although at least Win10 is required. After several hours of playing, Sable sometimes started to slide on the floor or the hooverboard control on the controller sticks got lost - but a restart always ended this.

When loading a new area, the board sometimes "banged" against an invisible wall because the PC was not fast enough when reloading the data. But this had no effect. Only waiting until PC is ready again.

One small thing is (slightly) annoying: the number of items I "use" for masks or missions is not deducted. My inventory shows that I have four tokens of a profession, but I've already had three of them moulded into a mask. I actually only have one token left, but four are still displayed. That's annoying with the items you have to collect: I never know how many I REALLY have.

Only a little bug...
