I looked around in the forum and couldn't find anything. Apologies if I've missed it. I managed to turn off the music in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, but I cannot find anywhere that lets me turn off all sound (including guest talking and rides clanking). The only thing I can think of is to go into the folders and delete the sound files but I don't want to do that because (I don't know) I might need them later or something.

Have you tried openrct2? There's a whole bunch of extra options and features
Use OpenRCT2. I'm not sure there's a wide variety of muting options, but you can just mute the sounds within the options.
Curiously, RCT1 had an ear icon that let you turn off all sounds, but RCT2 didn't. OpenRCT2 does have such an option, as the others have said.

Windows has the mixer (expanded from the loudspeaker tray icon) that lets you turn off sound for each program seperately, wouldn't that be the simplest? RCT still thinks it makes noise buy you won't hear it.
Thank you everyone for your responses. I decided that installing OpenRCT2 would be simpler than installing windows, never mind cheaper (heh). Love the expansions!
