Hi all,

I've had an interesting problem with both RCT2 and Locomotion in recent months. When I launch the games, the menu screen appears, but half way up my monitor (bottom half of screen is black, game starts half way up the screen), with the top half of the picture cut off. The mouse can move across the whole screen, and the computer is registering the bottom of the picture at the bottom of my monitor (i.e. if I click in the bottom right, it selects the exit button, even though the button is half a screen above this).

I have spent a few hours with google and tried the Direct Draw fix and various compatibility modes, but with no luck.

I suspect it may be related to newer NVidia drivers, but I'm struggling to work out how to fix. DSR is off in my drivers.

System specs:

AMD FX-8350
16GB RAM
GTX 660
Windows 7 Professional x64
AOC G-Sync monitor (1080p)

Any ideas anyone?
Use compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 and disable Aero for those games. See if that changes it.

That's "Disable Visual Themes" isn't it? Tried it - no change.
Hmm. Try setting the colour depth of your monitor to 16-bit before running the games (skip step 4): http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/258-color-bit-depth-display-settings.html

No joy. Feels like it has to be a driver issue, but if so, I can't be the only person with this problem!

Don't know about Locomotion, but for rct2 you can try openrct2 and see if that fixes the issue. As a bonus there are higher resolutions and cool new features like choosing the funding model for each park.
Fixed with an install of DGVoodoo http://dege.freeweb.hu/

This seems to work for a lot of old games; I'm guessing that recent driver updates have damaged compatibility with older DirectDraw games.
