When I start up Robin Hood, immediately the game graphics are completely blurry like I'm looking at them through an out of focus camera or drunk through the bottom of a beer glass. It seems as if there are 3D filters or something being applied to the game's graphics which are perhaps malfunctioning or something and causing the entire screen to just be a totally blurred mess instead.

Windows 7 Pro x64
AMD FX8350 4GHz
32GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD7850 2GB
Dell U3011 30" DFP with 2560x1600 desktop resolution

The opening splash screens/logos display fine, the opening movie plays fine and when the game gets to the main menu where you would normally start a game, it is completely blurry. I've attempted to make a screenshot but haven't figured out how to do that yet. If I figure out something I'll attach one below.

I noticed the "Alien Nations" game displays this exact same behaviour as well, just as an additional datapoint.

I found a workaround for this problem by experimentation with my video driver settings.

This appears to be a bug in the game reacting with the video drivers in a bad way, which probably is because the game is so old now. I sent in the ATI Control Center and brought up 3D Settings. Then I chose to "Add Application" to make custom settings for the game, and I browsed to find the executable which is named "Game.exe" in the GOG Robin Hood install folder.

After much experimentation I discovered a setting that caused the problem to vanish:

Morphological Filtering

If that is on, the game is blurry and very screwed up, but disable this setting and save it, then restart the game and the problem vanishes. I have only tested this on the main menu so far which is now readable with no graphical problems visible however I have not yet actually played the game itself so I'm not 100% certain there wont be other issues.

Nonetheless this appears at least to resolve the issue for me.

Additionally I just tested this same fix with the game "Alien Nations" which exhibits the exact same problem and the fix works with that game too so I suspect any game that appears to have this issue may be resolved by using this solution.

I hope this helps someone who comes looking for a fix in the future. If it does please let me know that it worked for you if it does, and if it works for any other games you have the problem with list them here as well for others that come looking in the future.
That's a remedy for ATI users and I'm pretty sure they're going to be grateful to you, but unfortunately, they're still in the minority (the majority of players use nVidia). Still gotta look around for the solution.
