I got no sound for the first run.

For me it helped to just restart the computer after the game - installation

Otherwise, there´s the tip to reinstall VISUAL C++ from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

I hope i could help.

Edit:
Starting the game for the second time: Again no sound!
And after another reboot: Sound!

I just hope there will be a patch soon.

The FAQ.txt in the gamefolder states:

Q: No Audio Plays + Error Defining External Function

-Uninstall and reinstall Visual C++, included in the 'redist' folder or can be downloaded again at (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679)
-Restart your computer
-If running Windows 8, run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (right click -> Properties > Compatibility)

I had the same problem and reinstalled Visual C++ and afterwards the sound worked flawlessly ever since.
What I can't remember is whether I downloaded it from Microsoft or used the executable from the redist folder.

Just make sure to uninstall the old stuff first.
I want to reinstall, but there are so many Visualc++ installed... Do i have to uninstall them all seperatly?
And the download section at microsoft has 3 files to choose from, but not really a description which too choose - i think x64 for 64bit, but it´s just guessing. Maybe i need all 3?

Feel free to skip ARM. Not sure if the game is 64-bit or not.
Worked!

Nice time, guys!
