I had the problem that my skills/abilities were not visible in the character menu, the panel for them was blank.

If it's the same for you, try this:

Go to Windows Control Panel (Windows Systemsteuerung) -> Display settings (Anzeige).

There you should be able to configure your text size. 100%, 125% and 150%. Mine was set to 125, changing it 100 fixed the in game menu.

I hope that will help some people.

Thanks man (no idea whether you're still around), you saved me. Just now I had exactly the same problem.

Changing the text size to 100% and THEN rebooting the computer did the trick for me. Unfortunately the reboot is necessary, a bit annoying, therefore I just keep it at 100% for the few weeks it takes me to complete the game.
I had same problem. Instead changing a text size I change DPI for game (Windows 11, I am not sure if it will working on other Windows):
1. go to exe (Path to\GOG Galaxy\Games\Risen 3 Titan Lords\system\Risen3.exe) right click on it, and choose properties
2. Click on "Compatibility" tab and inside this tab click on "Change a hi DPI settings"
3. The new window appear and you check "Program DPI" and on the menu "Use DPI settings for my main monitor when" : (and choose) "open this program".
4. Click OK, then "Use" for confirm a changes.
5. Check your changes if they are saved, then run a game. The skilils shoud appear now.

PS: my windows is not in english, therefore I am sorry for not correct translated words.
For Windows 7 if you want to keep higher DPI settings (i.e. 125%) just uncheck "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling" box, that made skills visible for me with 125% dpi settings.
