I picked this up in the flash sale. I wish I hadn't. It is horribly optimized. I have an I3-2120 and HD7970 which runs most FPS in single player at 70+ easy. I can rune Bioshock Infinate on high at 60 FPS rarely dropping into the mid 50's. This game on low settings at 1080p runs between 100 and 35 for no good reason. Even indoors it will fluctuate between them. Save your money and buy a game that is optimized!
I think you should optimize your PC, i3 with an 7970? You kidding me?

It should be enough to run a game like Rise Of The Triad.

It sounds like your advanced options are too high. You should lower the resolution too.

Too be fair most games still barely touch the cpu, My mate built a pc on a budget and i sold him my old radeon 6950 which is still decent, that paired with a pentium dual core still runs most stuff on high settings! ... having said that this game being pc exclusive, its probably going to use more cpu power!

I also have the same microstutter and unstable frame rate issues, and I am using a Core i5-2500k with a Radeon HD 6850.

The i3 may be the small kid of the I family, but it's still a beast of a processor, and perfect for a gaming machine, since most of the heavy work is to render images, which is done by the video card. It makes perfect sense to save money on the processor and put it on the video card
