If you'd like to play ROTT (the 2013 version) without the hud, do the following:

First enable the console in the menus. Then open the console with '~'. To toggle the hud on/off, type:

showhud


To bind it to a key, open the console and type:

setbind h showhud

Replace 'h' with the key of your choice.



The hud will reappaer every time you go into the menus and then return to gameplay. Sadly, the 'showhud' command disables the crosshair as well, making the game much more challenging.
