I'm starting to regret buying the game on GOG and that's a rare thing! Why is it that patches for this game only appear after ludicrous (pun intended) delays? 1.5 is out on Steam for almost a month now, of course I don't care for Steamworks but it contains bugfixes for stuff that just keeps happening to me while playing. I don't know if it's the devs or GOG's fault, I don't even care, just speed things up already!
As I've understood it, 1.4 was the last patch the GOG version will get. They offer Steam keys for people who bought it on GOG (I think you have to contact Apogee/Interceptor support for that). But, yeah, I wish the GOG version was better supported. Maybe if GOG Galaxy offers some of the same features that Steamworks do, there could be hope to get the equivalent features patched in for the GOG version.

Looks like reason behind this is because they chosen Steamworks for multiplayer with dedicated servers instead of their own infrastructure, although not dead and still supported progress from accounts based on old network up to 1.4 have option sync with old accont, as it seems Steam won't give any new CD-keys for MP so since being Steamworks is harder to separate simple patch from DRM-ed stuff related to multiplayer and can't bother with releasing 1.5 without multiplayer so steamworks multiplayer will be replaced later with Galaxy multiplayer infrastructure.

Performance of 1.5 have almost no difference to 1.4, only on some machines and still is resource hog that needs community fixes (E3L4 framerate wtf!), other changes are cosmetic like not losing equipment somewhere that happens rarely or doomstick heating up meals.

Losing equipment happened to me frequently. The doomstick not heating up meals is not just cosmetic and quite frustrating.
At least we're getting the patch at (unspecified date).

on their official facebook page i asked on 22nd of October when the patch is gonna be out on GOG and they said "very soon"
Actually I asked for a Steam key after posting this and Interceptor was super cool and gave me one. I recommend doing this as the 1.5 patch got rid of a few nasty bugs (like losing your weapons sometimes when the game reloads a checkpoint). Sorry, GOG, you're still my favourite store. :)

Not sure if this thread is still active, but I just contacted Apogee to ask for a Steam copy and all they said was to "never believe rumors". Maybe the patch will be coming soon?

Perhaps. 3 months isn't the longest we've had to wait for a patch.
Good news: I just asked the official ROTT page on Twitter and they replied with this: "It is very much being brought up to speed for GOG Galaxy and the next update. Sorry for any delays!"
I ended up buying ROTT on steam though when it was like 3 bucks a few months ago. It is DRM-Free there, but I prefer GOG's build so I'm glad they shall support this version with Galaxy. It's something xD. Thanks for the info!
