The music didn't seem to be working for me either, at least at first. Suddenly started working as I got out of the main castle and into the first part of the game - town.

Just looked up Victor in the Moby Games database and I'm surprised Revenant was his only credit. Wonder what ever happened to him. He delivered a great set of in game tracks, had no prior experience and was kind of a risk. Was really pleased with what he delivered.

Ronny Moorings and Pat Collins tracks didn't make it into the game (at least not much) but those tracks were my favorites from that project. Pretty amazing stuff. I still play them on YouTube all the time.
The music is working for me and always has been, but the tracks are playing wrong.

Wrong tracks in wrong areas.

Normally in the original game there were different tracks playing in different areas (they were on a CD, so it always only played the respective track from the CD). Now they seem to go after each other, once one ends, next one starts. It horribly ruins the atmosphere of the game, sadly, because the music is one of the best things about it and it adds to the atmosphere.

Anyone had any success or ideas how this could be fixed?

Hi Darkfox,
I have the same problem as you.
Did you manage to find a solution?
I'm sure there is a workaround but since this game is obscure I haven't found a real solution. Real shame because I played this on Windows 2000 as a teenager. The music that played on the original CD-ROM version was fantastic. Very disappointed considering that GOG typically sets up games without a hitch. More than I can say for Steam, that's for sure.
My apologies for only adding further salt to the wound, but as of right now, the music still doesn't play properly, even IF you somehow find and successfully install the Galactic mod (it's been taken down off ModDB so you have to chance it with MEGA downloads). Pity, as with the right DGVoodoo configuration (Max ISF, forced 8xMSAA & 16xAF, Stretched, 4:3 AR output) it looks GORGEOUS...but the music playing out of order RUINS the intended atmosphere....
I've tested this both on Windows 10 or Windows 7; I recall Messiah, another PITA to run oldie working better under 7 doesn't seem to be the case here:( so the music playback emulation itself needs work
