I have tried the win 10 fixes and no luck. Time to stop buying old games half do not work in 11 it seems.

tkosh: I have tried the win 10 fixes and no luck.
You gave no information about the crash, such as possible error messages, or about the fixes you tried, anyway have you tried setting the game to run as administrator and/or in compatibility mode for Windows XP? This thread might be helpful, even though it's about the first game of the series.
I use Galaxy to install and update all my games, btw. (I only use the manual install files for my backup copy archive.) I've got >380 Gog games, and Galaxy works great for installing and updating them all. Thought I'd mention that first.

I am currently running Win11 build 22624.1755, a Windows Insider beta build. AMD 3900X/6900XT. GPU driver Adrenalins 23.4.3.

Game runs fine at 4k, my native desktop res.

My biggest/only problem is that the frame-rate is far too fast--the problem most people have, actually. The game installs fine through Galaxy and runs without issue, with the following caveats:

I discovered that the only version of the game I could get to run properly at all is the Gog version "1.03-Windows 10" version--which is listed in Galaxy as the second most recent patch for the game (I had no luck with the latest "language" patch, for some reason.) The earlier versions of the game won't run in Win10/11 at all.

* Set the Dxcfg.exe program in the main game directory to use all defaults for the game. The default settings are clearly marked.

*After setting the dxcfg.exe to all default settings, run the game from the Game.exe file in the root directory of the game. Do not set any "compatibility" settings for Game.exe at all! The patched version of the game I mention here doesn't need them, so leave all of the compatibility boxes unchecked.

* This last "step" demands some patience, unfortunately. When the game runs, it will go through a few intro screens until it gets to the main menu--appx 10 seconds or less to get there. If the animation in the menu screen is running so fast the monkey in the bottom left of the screen is moving insanely fast, then immediately EXIT the game completely and go back to your desktop. Then, run game.exe again, until you get to the menu screen in which the animation has slowed down to normal speeds--indicating the game is running normal as designed, and you can play for hours with the correct animation speed. YOU may have to REPEAT this step multiple times before the game will run at the correct animation speed! But it will eventually run properly if you hang in there. Wish I had a simpler solution, but at least this one works, as I've verified repeatedly.

It's a charming little game--good luck, as it is worth playing, imo.
