If you are unsatisfied with the limited options the game out of the box offers I recommend playing it via an emulator. To do so:
1. get Retroarch
2. copy the "rom" from the install directory (%install directory%\Retro Classix Joe and Mac_Data\\StreamingAssets\cninja.zip) of the game to a folder of your liking.
3. Start Retroarch and install the Core (Arcade (MAME 2003-Plus)
4. Use Import Content > Scan File
5. Navigate to the folder where you put the zip-file from Step 2 and select the cninja.zip file)
6. You should now have a "MAME 2003-plus" category on the left with the game as the only entry in it.
7. On the first start you need to choose the core, choose the one from step 3
