Hi,

I'm a bit confused here. I play with a PS5 controller and I'm having issues with Resident Evil 2. Trying to open the first door at the beginning doesn't work and when I aim my gun at the zombies or anything else the gun auto-shoots.

I don't know if this is a user error or something with the game. The first Resident Evil game works completely fine with my PS5 controller so I'm a bit lost. I tried reinstalling the game and unplugging and reconnecting my controller. I even changed the bindings but the problem persists.

I know the game iiterally came out within the hour but I'm still hoping someone can help me here.
same with xbox controllers
maybe a bug with the controller scheme?

I've been having this problem too. I've tried my Switch Pro controller, a generic 8BitDo controller I have, even my keyboard... but I've been getting the exact same problems as you. Reinstalling didn't help at all for me either.

So I've tired just using the keyboard without and peripherals plugged in and same problem. I then tried an old Xbox controller and a few controller emulator apps like DSX and ReWASD and the problem was still there. So I don't know at this point.

It is at least somewhat comforting knowing I'm not the only one with the issue but it's still frustrating, nonetheless. I do hope someone finds and answer.
strange update, just installed it on steam deck, and no issues with the controller on that device...
Huh... I too have a strange update, and I feel dumb being it wasn't something I thought to try from the beginning. After much frustration I had given up. I restarted my PC and for some reason the game and the controller are working fine now. I assume there's just something wonky about some installations, but it seems to have worked. Just wish I had thought of doing this sooner.
that actually worked... wth xD

Haha yeah. I think we can summarize this as the typical "Have you tried turning it off and on" situation.

have the same problem playing wtih keyboard.
Just a general FYI GoG has issues with steam overlay enabled so if you do continue to have issues shut down your steam client completely to see if that resolves controller or keyboard issues.
