The combat is abysmal because of the hit chance.I have like 5 or 6 misses in a row with 80% chance to hit.....I am going to restart the game in easy after a day of cooling.

And here I thought the first battle was supposed to teach you how to fight. A single rat is not dead after 3 hits, what is this armored creature of doom? %) I wonder how many tries I’ll need *cough*
I was really surprised when one of heroes died during the tutorial battle.I was just spamming the attack because i have a lot of experience with such combat systems and before i knew it my main hero was licking the floor because of the stupid hid chance. Before someone goes on on how bad i am at the game,i do play a lot of games with tactical combat system on hard like Divinity:original sin ,spiderweb games, Baldur's gate and many others.
It wasn’t my first experience with tactical games either. Well, I managed to beat it in the end (shield other/mark/attack; spend authority points to double act), although if the larger rat would rush me I’d likely be dead. Fortunately, they weren’t smart enough to focus fire me.
I found that best tactics were to hide behind the coach or rush the big rat
Oh, so it's actually a challenge rather than a snooze even in the tutorial? Awesome! Sounds like my kind of tactical game! Exactly the sort of thing I came to this forum looking for!
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know we noticed that RNG generator we're using (the default Unity one) can indeed sometimes behave erratically. It seems to occur rarely though and only on specific CPUs.

We're tracking this and if the problem persists we'll do something about it. Still, sometimes bad luck will simply happen ;) but there are a lot of tools to deal with it. Kay's Command grants you Auto-Hit on any target you use it on and Griffith's Pinpoint Strike can be morph to Auto-Hit as well (and he becomes a terrifying murder machine indeed).
I was also a bit startled, because my main character died during the tutorial battle, too. And the number of hit misses was
conspicuously high. I think I got a 30% to 50% miss rate during the first 3 combats. This seems way to high for me?!

I hope it's only because I'm not yet familiar witch the mechanics, but it's good to read, that the developer is putting focus on this occurence. THX
Definetely i had some issues with 2-3 misses at row with 97% accuracy, but overall there were nothing completely broken... There is good amount of skills and combos with guaranteed hit, there is also Grenn...
But i agree that first battle is quite hard for tutorial and even can "scare" players who are new to tactical combat.
