I agree. This is the worst game engine ever. The setup is complete backwoods bullshit.

This game isnt really that bad. Its fun. It has its problems though. Like the setup file is missing a "music" option in the audio setup... I mean wtf? But still. Its worth 5.99. There are bullshit xbla games that cost more than this. And this has more content!
I enjoy this game while hulu buffers 1mbit shows on my 768kbit connection.

The build engine was very technologically advanced for its time, with support for voxels and a rudimentary room-over-room 3d. You can even boost the resolution beyond 640x480 if you really can't stand games the way they used to look. I agree that there are sound balancing issues in redneck rampage, and I'm not a huge fan of how the music kicks in, but all things considered, it's a very solid game.
As for the setup, that's what you got before directX packaged everything into a single set of interpreters. Pretty much every DOS game had something similar.

Actually there at least he has a point. True, it was no worse than Doom, but WOLFENSTEIN 3D let you map keys in-game!
The game doesn't take itself seriously and more than half the fun of playing it are the jokes and the beautiful level design.

Fair point. Not being able to map keys in game is a little painful I'll admit, and I had forgotten that Wolfenstein 3d did a rather cool auto-detect on startup. Presumably not often used by DOS games due to stability issues?
It's just beyond me that people come to a site called Good OLD Games and then whine about the graphics being a little blocky!
You ain't yee-hawin' enough.......

This game is great and is actually full of nostalgia for me and I'm sure others that played as a child or loves the troma references.
One of the best fps games in its time, that and shadow warrior were just great

One of the best fps ever.

Is it as good as quake ? no.

Better then doom3 ? no.

More fun than every other fps outside of badcompany 2 from battlefiled 2 forward? Yes.
One of the best games built upon Ken Silverman's BUILD engine along with Duke Nukem 3D and Blood!

In fact has there ever really been a bad game produced using this engine? :p
